Northern Veterinary Clinic is a full service animal clinic providing after hours services for emergency treatment cases as well as pet and livestock patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. The clinic also offers a large animal facility on site for livestock and horses, in addition to scheduled calls directly to the farm.  Our clinic provides in-house blood work, ultrasound, radiology, and many other advanced diagnostic and treatment options to provide a high level of care for your pets and livestock. Steven Hjartarson has over 10 years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care. Beyond first rate pet care, we try to make our clinic comfortable, so your pet can relax in the waiting room and look forward to meeting Northern Veterinary Clinic’s outstanding staff!

    Lauren Luse

    Lauren started with the Northern Vet team in November 2015. She comes from a veterinary family in Michigan, having several DVM family members. Lauren brings over 3 years of practical experience to the qualified group, working in a mixed practice setting. She has a science degree from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.

    Lauren lives in Cut Bank with her husband Jason, a BNSF bridge inspector, their 3 children, 4 chickens, and a crazy dog named Chip!

    In her free time Lauren can be found with her family enjoying raft trips near Glacier National Park, camping, or snowboarding in the winter. She loves the outdoors!

    Rachel Alvarez

    Rachel joined Northern Veterinary Clinic in August of 2018. She is originally from Arizona and made the big move to Cut Bank Montana in the spring of 2018. Rachel is currently enrolled in Penn Foster online college working toward obtaining her Veterinary Technician Degree. She has always had a passion for working with animals, being raised around horses and dogs her entire life. She looks forward to finishing her Vet Tech degree and working with not only small animals, but horses and cows as well. Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband Harrison, along with their 3 dogs and 2 cats. She loves doing just about anything outdoors, and is excited to put down some roots and experience what the great state of Montana has to offer!

    Emily Bartlett-Leonard

    Emily returned to join the Northern Veterinary Clinic team in April of 2021 after taking some time off to be with her two smallest children. She brings a combined five years of practical experience as a technician to the caring team. Emily is a Certified Veterinary Assistant and is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology distance learning program through San Juan College, further expanding the clinic's skill set. Emily lives in Valier with her husband, Terry, their 4 kids, a lovable Labrador named Romeo, as well as several cats, ponies, goats and chickens. In her free time Emily loves gardening, running, hiking and camping with her family while exploring the great state of Montana.

    Angela Luchi

    Angie joined Northern Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 2021.  She is currently attending the veterinary technician program at Penn Foster online college.  It has always been her “dream job” to work with animals.

    Angie has lived in Cut Bank for four years with her boyfriend, Marcus, and step-daughters Deja and Presley.  She has 3 crazy dogs and a bearded dragon.  In her spare time Angie loves to go camping, boating, and spending quality time with her family.
